Welcome to Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church

Since 1875, this beautiful, Gothic-style stone Catholic Church in Aurora, Illinois – with its soaring steeple and pealing bells – has welcomed members home for a deeply spiritual experience of faith and life.  The mission and ministries of the church echo the example of Mary, the Blessed Virgin, who became a vehicle of grace during her miraculous experience. Mary is our first disciple, our model of grace, who delivered Jesus our Savior to the world.

Annunciation welcomes our members into a community of faith with a Christ-centered, genuinely welcoming experience.  Whatever brings you to our church, you are always welcome to our blessed home!

Letter from the Bishop - Fiducia Supplicans declaration

On Monday, December 18th, the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith issued a Declaration entitled Fiducia Supplicans. That Declaration addresses the pastoral meaning of blessings.  Fiducia Supplicans states that blessings can be given in formal established liturgical moments. But they can also be spontaneous pastoral moments “such as during a visit to a shrine, a meeting with a priest, a prayer recited in a group or during a pilgrimage.” (FS, N. 40).   Click the button below to read the complete letter from the Bishop.
